Ive tried both Red Hat 5.0 and Ubuntu. Ive heard Red Hat is more robust and secure, although I dont see how I can go back to red hat once that Im so used to Ubuntu 10.04+ (Currently 11.04) People still say Red Hat is the leader, all servers in red hat.. Is it true.. If so, why?
because redhat was launched by a seperated group of hackers ,so initially people prefferd that but now a days ubuntu have improved itself ,many companies are putting its cloud on ubuntu servers and formerly a very good company(i dont remember the name exactly) announced to install ubuntu on its mainframes relpacing redhat. so i believe in ubuntu,it can do all the things ohter distros can do...
please mark the thread solved if your problem is solved...
Ubuntu has more of a desktop/home-user focus, while Red Hat is more server/enterprise oriented.

I believe HP has chosen Ubuntu for cloud servers/services. I think that's the direction Canonical/Ubuntu is going to have to go if they propose to be profitable. Their desktop products are really quite good but it's hard to make money giving away your flagship product.
