Evolution hotmail sending not working

Setting up email for first time i put these settings in:

Sending mail
Server type: SMTP
server: smtp.live.com:587
checked: autthentication
USe secure connection: ssl encryption
Type: plain
username: (hidden)

Not working error says "connection reset by peer"

receiving works.

No help? Pretty sure its simple problem just can't find it because i am new to Ubuntu
I have already done apt-get update,apt-get upgrade and apt-get dist-update.

Everyone here is a volunteer and replies to what they like when they like depending on if they know or are interested enough to respond.

I dont personally use hotmail in evolution but i know this has come up a few times, so search the forum as there are plenty of threads on it.

From what i remember i thought hotmail was not supported outside of outlook and its connector though that might have changed now.

ok well can you post the solution and mark the thread as solved then that way people such as yourself find it easier to get answers in the future when they search the forums.
