Unity switching to classic after a few startups

I installed 11.04 fresh after a fatal error with upgrading. Unity was able to display just fine but after like the 7th startup unity declared that my hardware didn't support 3d acceleration and switched me to classic. I think it has to do something with the graphics driver as trying to make compiz start makes this error pop up.

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0"
I have not changed anything with my hardware and unity + compriz "used" to work

Fixed it myself. First followed last reply in this thread

then followed this when compiz was acting up after fixing

Hope this helps people. I had an Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller for anyone searching for their solution
