    Ah, yes:

So you got the ch341.ko working? Did you have to patch it?

So did two dashes also work? Sometimes syntax is not so strict depending on how it is coded so you can use a variant. For example xinput has gone from requiring dash(es) to allowing just the option or switch as has xsetwacom.

I assume if you have one your Wacom tablet mouse works? Also if you have an airbrush it would be very good if you could test the scrollwheel.
Didn't have to patch for the ch341. Followed all the steps for protocol V under Natty (a new Xubuntu install, actually) and it all worked out of the box. This is my least painful wacom installation to date.

Tried two dashes on inputattach and it works the same.

The tablet mouse moves the cursor but the buttons don't work. Don't own an airbrush.

    Cool.

    Thanks for looking into that.

They should by default. We may want to ask roaldfre to look at that. What is the output of xinput list and xsetwacom list in a terminal?
    Don't own an airbrush.
Shoot. Still need someone to verify the airbrush scrollwheel.

    Hi Favux, tokenrove et al
I finally upgraded from maverick to oneiric (I hope I ever get used to unity...sigh). Unfortunately my 3D package is making problems ... blablabla.
But fortunatly my Wacom Digitizer II works (basicly) with tokenroves driver. Eraser is still acting funny but stylus works like a charm.
    Ty all for your work

    Hi dreh,

Thanks for letting us know. I'll add your name to the successful Oneiric testers of course.

    xinput list comes back with

    Code:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]

    ⎜ ↳ Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet stylus id=13	[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]

        ↳ Power Button id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=9	[slave keyboard (3)]
    xsetwacom list comes back with

    Code:
Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet eraser	id: 10	type: ERASER
Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor	id: 11	type: CURSOR
Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet pad	id: 12	type: PAD
Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet stylus	id: 13	type: STYLUS
Also, beware! I installed Gimp 1.7.3 unstable from ppa:matthaeus123/mrw-gimp-svn and the tablet stopped working, coming up with "Device is busy" on /dev/ttyUSB0.

I purged 1.7.3, reinstalled Gimp from the Ubuntu repos, re-setup the wacom and things are back to normal.

Re: HOW TO Set Up a Wacom Serial Tablet in Ubuntu

Weird, hope it is an unstable bug.

OK, let's see what button maps X input and wacom sees for the mouse.
    Code:
xinput list-props "Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor"
    and
    Code:
xsetwacom get "Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor" all

Re: HOW TO Set Up a Wacom Serial Tablet in Ubuntu

Hmmm. Xinput is claiming the puck/cursor buttons do nothing i.e. aren't assigned:
    Code:
    Wacom Button Actions (273):	"None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0), "None" (0)
But at least you have 16 buttons available! Unfortunately xsetwacom all didn't tell us what button mapping xsetwacom is seeing. So we'll have to get them one at a time. Enter these three commands:
    Code:
xsetwacom get "Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor" Button 1
xsetwacom get "Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor" Button 2
xsetwacom get "Wacom protocol 5 serial tablet cursor" Button 3
and post the output associated with each button. There are 3 buttons correct? Is the middle button clicking the scroll wheel? Depending on what we see could try mapping the puck buttons with either xsetwacom (or Options in a xorg.conf.d wacom.conf?) or xinput.
