macbook air alternative

hey,

i currently use a macbook pro, but wanna phase out both the machine and the os.
what i want is a macbook air, but i'm obviously not too keen to get yet another apple machine. i want a 13" machine w/ a i5 or i7, matte screen, keyboard backlit and NO optical drive and a SSD w/ a good GPU for occasional games, yet long battery times and please no glossy piano plastic crap, aluminium all the way.
the only device that matches my needs is the current macbook air, well, except of the CPU, but the upcoming revision should fix that.
the system76 lineup sadly only has powerful 15".

this is what i'm gonna buy, if it's running good w/ ubuntu, please system76, copy that machine and provide stellar driver support, i'm sure i'm not the only one who wants such a machine.
am i missing a worthy alternative out there?

While the specs look spectacular, I would worry about heat (I guess we'll find out more when it is release and there are reviews). However, I do agree I would love an update to the lemur form factor with a matte display.
Who knows, maybe they are working on a sandy bridge lemur and are just waiting on the graphics support?
