    Evolution message deletion problem

I can't delete any messages in Evolution. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Evolution but that makes no difference. I can delete from any folder except the Inbox.

mmm... that's weird. Are you sure that you're able to send/receive mails properly? when you send mails, are they copied to your sent folder?

Everything works perfectly except for the delete function.

    Re: Evolution message deletion problem

I really liked Evolution and used it for a long time retrieving my mail on IMAP from Gmail, but as much as I like it it seemed a little slow for my taste and had these frequent idiosyncrasies that become irritating, so I shopped around other clients and finally settled on Thunderbird. Now I will tell you Thunderbird was my last choice. I really didn't want to go back to it. I had used it a couple of years ago and it didn't fit....at all. Now with 3.1 version it has become what Linux has always needed. For me it has been fast, error free, configurable and importing settings couldn't be easier. Too bad.....and I liked Evolution.(steps down from soapbox)

    Re: Evolution message deletion problem

    Thanks for the comments.

Curiously the problem has fixed itself!?!?!?

I wonder if the problem with software sometimes lies in slight ageing of the hard drive? A little wear in the bearing, a little deterioration in the disk surfaces etc.

My PC is switched on and running for over 9 hours most days and it's about 2 1/2 years old so I would expect some wear to be present by now.

I like however to be able to nail a fault down as to it's actual cause.

    Possibly some update fixed it.
