Re: How many of you completely switched to Windows?

I know this is a joke, but I'm one of those rare (ever growing hopefully) people that started with linux.

Every time I acquire a new computer with windows on it, I try for a bit (once I had a go for 2 whole days), but I can never get my head round it.

I always end up nuking it.

But, for that reason I would never insult someone who just doesn't want to learn a new operating system, because I'm the same - stuck in my old comfort zone.

Re: How many of you completely switched to Windows?

Everytime i see one of these threads i just remember the Vista days when i had time sit down for a brew before my laptop booted up and time for a 3 course meal while it shut down.

I see nothing different in Windows 7, many a time my wife moans as i've switched on, booted up, carried out what ever task need completing and powered down again, normally before her machine has even connects to our Wifi.

Ive seen nothing in Windows 7 that would tempt me back, even the flashy task bar at the bottom i've got in Kubuntu 11.04.

Why pay through the nose when you can have freedom!

I would like some help please.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.
Some options here are not activated. What can I do?
    I'm completely new to Windows.
    Thanks in advance.

Try rebooting. If it doesn't help, you should reinstall.

What you need to do is.. Switch it off. Go to sleep.

I am trying to get my head around Ubuntu! So far so good although I was stuck with an Issue yesterday that took me 3 hours to resolve!!

I have another issue now which is griping at my insides slightly!!!

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I have been waiting for an update from Microsoft since January.
But in the last week I reported 10 crashes.
Am I loading them to much?

Good for you. Unless this thread was meant as a joke, you have to realize this is a "Linux" forum and the views of most people here will be kind of biased. The Linux CLI, IMHO, is the best thing since the discovery of water on this planet

To answer your question in the OP, I haven't and I don't think I will ever will. If I ever feel the need for a Windows "PC", it will probably be for media or gaming purposes, in which case, I'll bite the bullet and get a Mac.
This should be a sticky, or a bug 'cos it ain't a feature

Can anyone help me please, I beg you.
I want to clear my Windows from the duplicate files, 50MB. 50% are DLL. When I click to delete I see a warning "Files are in use".
    What should I do?

I don't know why you are being such a downer. It's a proven fact that command.com is more powerful than bash. Microsoft has said so themselves. I just need to find the command to erase my hard driver and go buy Windows so I can try it out for myself.
