Using Brasero, I'm burning the image to DVD. When I try to boot from the DVD, I just get a flashing cursor mark upper left corner, DVD spins, but no action.
Anyone?

How did you download the iso? If it was through torrents then you should be fine (torrent clients check md5 sum automatically).
Try burning it again with minimum speed.
Thanks for the help. Downloaded , burning contents of image file at 4X, will update shortly.

Same results. I'm committed to Ubuntu, but need to reinstall Windows to run some Windows programs for work. Wine will install, but not execute thr running of the programs.
I have no trouble creating bootable CDs, but so far no luck with larger files on DVD.
Open a terminal and do this
Replace /dev/dvd with whatever applicable (/dev/cd, /dev/sr0, /dev/scd0, etc.)Code:growisofs -dvd-compat -speed=4 -Z /dev/dvd=/path/image.iso

To be clear, should it be dev/cd instead of dev/dvd?
Before I run in terminal, what result am I looking for? What will this command accomplish?
Thanks again for your time!
I've been playing with this command, inserting different paths, etc. and I keep getting "no file or path found".
I'm not sure if this command is supposed to burn the dvd, or open it, or what.
Thanks again for your time & assistance.
