As per a post I put on linuxquestions, I'm trying to decide on a sound card for my new system. I usually just use onboard audio. I'm looking at either the pci-express Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme or Asus Xonar DX.
Can anyone that's experienced these cards with Ubuntu comment regarding drivers. As there is no official Linux support would purchasing one of these cards be pointless or will Ubuntu automatically detect them? Will there be a need to configure them or just install and go?
I'll be using a 64 bit Ubuntu install
