Somebody hacked the imperial system and changed the length of an inch to the equivalent of 15 kilometres. You are sitting on the couch in your living room when your sudden growth happens, accompanied by the mushroom sound effect from Super Mario Bros.

You get dropped off in Belgium, but then you get mugged there, so there's no way to go anywhere, since you're also in the hospital with completely shattered legs and arms and no way to pay for the reconstructive surgery (those who mugged you decided to take out some rage on you, so...).
