Wifi fails on only one of two machines

My netbook runs 10.10 and my desktop runs both 11.04 and 10.10 atm. My netbook can connect and stay on the internet, but my desktop (in either version) connects for ~ 5mins then stops working without warning. It says I'm still connected, but I can't ping anything on or off the network.

My wireless card has always worked fine with every other wifi. Just not this one.

What is the model number/name of the device you are using to connect? Have you done a web search for known issues with the adapter?

It's a Linksys WRT54G and I it seems I'm not the only one with this problem.. However I couldn't find any solutions to it.

I also tried using it on my windows xp partition and it didn't drop me there.

Is this the router or the wifi card in the computer. My google search refers to this as a router. If it's the router with is the wifi card in the computer?

Yes that's the router, and I'm using a Rosewill RNX-N180PCe wireless card in the desktop.

Update: it seems to do the same thing in Windows XP on the same machine, except it takes a few hours for it to happen, and it returns when I wait for ~5mins.

I'm really clueless here so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
