All hail, Paramvir! Heh! You are the King of Bash! That's a PERFECT solution!
I've been messing about with those AM/PM settings since day-one. I get it where I want, then tomorrow, I hate the look, and I change it again. And, the day after that. And, next week. Over, and over, and over, again.
It's probably some sort of psychological defect -- obsessing over the look n' feel of AM PM. LoL!
Anyway, that will make things much easier. Good job!
EDIT
Works like a champ! Allowed me to apply my favorite format.
That's the format I've stuck with the longest, in all sorts of programs...Code:# ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # Use UPPERCASE or lowercase AM PM or am pm for 12 hour time format # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # [0] ALL UPPERCASE (example: 03:00 PM) # [1] all lowercase (example: 03:00 pm) # [2] Hide am pm (example: 03:00) # [3] all lowercase with no padding/spacing (example: 3:00pm) # [4] Use custom time format - state the format in custom_time_format # NOTE: This will only work if Time_format=12 (below) show_lowercase_ampm=4 # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # Set custom time format - see man date in a terminal to get more options # Be sure to quote the time format in single quotes as shown # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # custom_time_format='+%_I:%M%P' custom_time_format='+%l:%M %p'

Hey thanks - feels good to be appreciated
But getting the stuff to work right some times takes a while.
The xml data has higher precision than the main Location data which is usually from a govt weather station.
So if one switches between using the xml or Location the trends go out of the window.
Something I just figured out when I read your post again - you are only using Location - but the trends should work any way - that's what a user would expect.
I love this investigation ha ha ha ha

I might try that, thanks!
As an aside, a mechanic told me once, "Always leave one of the bolts on your rear bumper loose."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because that's where the problems will go. Better to have your bumper fall off, than your transmission."
I guess I enjoy being tormented by the AM PM format and spacing. I dunno...
It's probably better that we create problems with conkywx.conf (the rear bumper), rather than conkywx.sh (the transmission).
Brilliant idea, really!

I haven't mentioned it, but since you brought it up, maybe it's time.
I have yet to get XML data (in my locale) to display correctly in Conkywx.
I haven't tried it in (probably) the past week, but if I remember correctly, the current temp comes up in metric units, everything else in imperial.
I figured I will cross that bridge when I get there. For now, Location (only) is working just fine, and I didn't feel it was worth messing with, at this juncture.

w00t! Works...Yeah!
I tried a different RapidFire PWS. I was using the closest one, a few blocks away in someone's backyard, no doubt. LoL! This one is a few miles away, at an elementary school (thus, an unofficial quasi-government weather station).
Gotta love WU!
New PWS didn't work at first, due to operator error.
Had to encase the Location URL in double-quotes ("). Now it works fine!
I compared the XML data to the WU website, and it matches.
Thanks, for the update. Gonna check the metric side now.
Onward and upward...
