    Hi Arno....

does your conkywx.conf file time set section look like this ??

    # -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    # Use UPPERCASE or lowercase AM PM or am pm for 12 hour time format
    # -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    # [1] ALL UPPERCASE (EXAMPLE: 03:00 PM)
    # [2] all lowercase (example: 03:00 pm)
    # [3] Hide am pm (example: 03:00)
    # [4] all lowercase with no padding/spacing (example: 3:00pm)
    # [5] Use 24 hour time format
    # OR - To Use custom time format. State the format here
    # To get more date formats see man strftime
    # Time_format='%-I:%M %p'
    Time_format=5
    #------------------------------------------------------------------------

if it doesn't look like this, then you must have an older version...

do as foodoo suggested & copy your info into new conkywx.conf...

then let us know how it went....

    Hi Tommy

Hows it going had a good week i hope ?
I've been messing with my nVidia Temp output not displaying correctly due to the fact that the output jumps two lines down and causes everything else to jump down as well.
found a nice way to resolve this by using an extra sed command
    ${execi 30 nvidia-settings -q gpucoretemp | grep '):'| cut -c 41-42 | sed '/^$/d'}°C${font}
now the temp shows up on the right line and displays correctly

Must admit i didn't have this problem in Ubuntu 13.04 !

    cheers Sean

not really....I will be burying 1 of my Mates of 32 years tomorrow....he finally died from his injuries
suffered on 09/11/2001....he was working at the Post Office across the street from the World Trade
Center....he spent hours breathing all that nasty dust trying to rescue survivors....his health went
down hill rapidly after that...he died waiting for a lung transplant as he had only 1/2 of 1 Lung left...

I guess you have made the transition to Saucy 13.10....or maybe Trusty 14.04 ???

are you using the VinDSL template with conkywx integrated....or standalone conkywx ???

I am using the VinDSL system monitor template, along with a standalone conkywx for the
    7 day forecast....here is a screenie...

I am pleased that the program was able to handle that - for the 2.0 work - some places the forecast data is incomplete or mangled and you can imagine. But it has taken fair bit of tweaking and then to contend with unicode - unicode what we see is at the end of the tunnel - in between it is a mangled maze.

Perhaps it is simple for professionals - but for amateurs/hobbyists like me - but perseverance, persistence, Google and brute force have been my best friends - if it aint right - hit the bugger again after some time

Geez, mate, same sentiments here! Google is your friend (sometimes....) and forums like this one can even teach you how to put up a decent conky on your desktop . Without the help of many others, professional or amateurs/hobbyists I would not have put together some of the scripts I am now writing for one of the major eCommerce engines (eg Zen Cart) nor would I have made my screen look not so bland with the appearance of VinDSL's conky.

    Thanks folks!

    Hi Tommy,

Very sorry to hear about your long time friend sounds like he was a very brave man! god bless him!

I am in fact using an older vinDSL template but would like to have a metric version of the latest and greatest from vin,
Q: Is it in one of the posts somewhere ? perhaps if you know could you point to it for me haha.

Your screenie looks great ! that's a neat idea using 5 people to make the frog cool!

    Cheers Sean.

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Hi NM5TF,

After replacing the conkywx.conf file with the most recent one, most of the problems were solved.
then after some trail and error with the template.sh and the examples in the conkywx folder
I finally got everything to work.

The only thing I`ve noticed is that sometimes the value`s are displayed as Imperial instead of metric, but after a restart of conky this is fixed.

Thanks to all for the help!

    Re: HOWTO: VinDSL Conky Script

    Hi awoltering,

Way to go!! that looks much better, as for the temps changing from metric to Imperial every now and then, I think we all get that too!
I've noticed you've got the same problem as me with your graphic card temp output, i've been working on this and have found the problem.
    try this in your .conkyrc:

    ${execi 30 nvidia-settings -q gpucoretemp | grep '):'| cut -c 41-42 | sed '/^$/d'}°C

The extra sed command: | sed '/^$/d' moves the actual temp output up one line making readable to conky!
you may have to play with the two values in the cut command: cut -c 41-42 if it doesn't display correctly
try this and see how you get on.

    Cheers Sean
