Bitlocker Encrypted External Drive - Does it Work in Ubuntu..??

    Hey Guys,
It's been a long time I've used Ubuntu. Since I bought a new Dell Inspiron, I plan to use Ubuntu 11.04 on it.. The thing is I have external hard drives that are Bitlocker Encrypted using Windows 7 Ultimate. Since I have encrypted them, when I connect it to my laptop on Ubuntu, will it ask for the password or will it not show or support or read the drive..?? In simple words, will by Bitlocker Encrypted Drive work in Ubuntu. Thanks in advace for your support..

I don't think it will, bitlocker only supports Windows.

If Bitlocker does its encryption in software controlled by the host, then it's unlikely.

However, you can get drives that have encryption built into the hardware. I have one of these, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-074-_-Product , and they work incredibly well (and are also ridiculously cool looking).
