Hi, here is a link for your card, start with post 57.

The link for the driver is in post 58.

Download and extract the driver to your desktop.

Unhappy Re: Wifi not working on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop.

@wildmanne39, I would be grateful for your help. Can you tell me how to fix this?

I have LULU, an old Compaq Presario C500 running Windows Vista with Ubuntu installed with Wubi. If I boot in Windows, Wifi works just fine. If I boot in Ubuntu, I have no wireless. I have no wired network. I have no practical access to the wifi router/access point. I have a second computer CAPULET, running Windows 7 on which I am writing this message. And I have a flashdrive that I use to pass files from one machine to the other.

Here's my output from the basic diag commands you've recommended to others...

    Code:
    cat $0
    echo ------------------------
    cat /etc/lsb-release; uname -a

The last half of this post tells you how to get the correct files without having resident internet access. It does work if you follow the direction carefully.

Hi, Down load this zip file to your jump drive then drag and drop the file to your desktop. Right-click it and select Extract Here. Open a terminal and do:
    Code:
    sudo mkdir /lib/firmware/b43
    sudo cp Desktop/b43/* /lib/firmware/b43
    sudo rmmod -f b43
    sudo rmmod -f ssb
    sudo modprobe b43
make sure your wired connection is not connected even though it is not currently working. This should get your wireless working.
    Thank you
