NVidia Quadro 1000M (ThinkPad W520)

Hi guys,
I am having the same problem with the W520 graphics. I followed the procedure posted by breenmachine of May 14, 2011 but did change the bios settings only after having already installed Wubi 10.04 64bit. When I let it search for hardware drivers it does not find anything. Does anybody know whether this has to do with the 64 bit version or with the installation already present when I changed the bios settings?
Any idea of how to proceed?

I have also run into this problem on Xubuntu 12.04 LTS on my ThinkPad W520 with Quardo 2000M graphics. I will keep everyone posted on any fixes I might find in my own digging...

After following the instructions provided, my computer boots into a TTY with no graphical interface loading.
