open source 'designer'

I use linux and open source, a lot, I make art, music and design. I cant write code, I report bugs, of course, but that's all.

The 'problem' is that I want to contribute to the open source scene too, but as I dont write code, I would love to make logotypes(cos there are a lot of ugly stuff out there...) and help out with other design things, cos that is what I do.

so: I'm looking for a 'place' where I can offer my design help to open source. Is there such a place?

Sadly, no. I spoke about it here. We really need this solved, but unfortunately it's not possible to say how many designers will to give back are around. Best I can suggest, find a project you really care about that is missing nice graphics and do it some good.

Edited: Oh, at the very least you probably could fix icons in Scribus. They are currently too eclectic. There's a bit of Tango style, a bit of old KDE style and, in short, a bit of everything. Stencil styled icons would probably be a good idea.
