Font problem in LibreOffice, extra intra character space

I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this.

After upgrading to 11.04 and hence to LibreOffice, I am having a strange problem with a particular font.

This is a Bengali font and freely downloadable at, http://ekushey.org/?page/solaimanlipi

Since this is free and very good looking, I use it for most of my documents.

Now, in LibreOffice calc, whenever this font is used, it creates a strange problem. See the attached image libreofficepreview.png for document preview, the middle line has been written using this particular font.

And the preview shows extra intra character space. If this document is printed, that problem will persist. However, if the document is first exported and then printed, the problem will disappear. See image libreofficepdf.png.

However, exporting first to pdf is not a solution since space calculation is done with extra inter character space.

The problem was not there in OpenOffice.

The problem is not random, because my home and office machines are showing the same behaviour.

    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
