    Photo manager/indexing program

    Hi
I currently use F-Spot, I like it, however I want to know if there is a piece of software that I can use to index my pictures, so if I unplug the hard drive and take it to a different PC/OS I can still use the index.

I prefer not to use on-line/cloud services.

Currently I have a desktop and a laptop. pics indexed/tagged using f-spot on the desktop. Is it somehow possible to take that index and use it on the laptop so I don't have to index again?

    thanks in advance
    Max

    Thanks for the reply.
Im ideally looking for a pc based solution. With picasa if index my pics on one pc, how are they available on another without creating web floders?

    regards
