No easy way to do it. It's the result of changes in the newer code.

Thanks Chuck, I think i ask that b4, duh! Getting old or older.
Are you guys still messing with Arch ?
I need a pre-installed one, I tried it 3 times and got fouled up so bad I had to quit but want to give it another shot.

Well I'm sticking with Arch, I think Keith is spending time with Oneiric right now.

I'm not sure there is an easy way with Arch. Take a look at the create-restore.tar.gz, it should let you install via a script. That file contains a snapshot of what is installed on my working system.

I haven't fully tested it yet but it should install a working Gnome 3.0 shell system from a net install.

    Re: gNatty Gnome Live ISO

    Hi chuck.
First i want to say that i really like it that someone has created a live cd based in Ubuntu with the Gnome 3 interface inside.
    But i have a problem.
I boot the cd on my pc.
And then i see the keyboard and accesible icons.
Then i see the Ugr bootscreen.
After that the ubuntu wallpaper shows up and then the Gnome3 wallpaper.
Then i can move the mouse but nothing else is happenimg. I have an 3D supported video card but i can only see the Gnome3 wzllpaper with the mouse cursor.
    Can anybody help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm jumping into this thread to stay up to date. I tried the beta 2 of Ubuntu and seriously, wtf is unity?!

I'll watch this till the official 11.10, then get going with this. Love it.

Unity is actually quite nice once you get the hang of it.
I still like Gnome Shell more, but gotta give Unity credit where its due.

    Re: gNatty Gnome Live ISO

Hi everyone, just keeping up with the Joneses here!
I'm getting to not like either unity or gs, I cant figure these things out any more

I see the official GS 3.2 will be out tomorrow so maybe some one will get all the extensions and themes together, HA HA

I cant wait to see what Wayland has to offer in the way of system screw-ups, I tried it awhile back and had no luck but of coarse I don't know what im doing half the time!

Haven't seen Keith around in awhile, wonder what hes up to?
I guess Chuck is still up the road in IL so CUL everyone,
    Cecil

If you haven't already found a fix try using nomodeset from the grub menu. I had that problem early on, think it had something to do with the defaullt Nvidia 173 driver, which may be a different problem than the one you're having.
