In the preferences is an option called Personal Stuff, here you could choose to hide the title-bar.

It's at the bottom of the screenshot, hope you can read it.
I use that in Chrome, but have not found an equivalent option or plug in for Firefox. If I could do that in Firefox, I'd probably switch back to Firefox.

One thing I find wanting in gnome-shell, is that when I open the dashboard and type in a few letters to find an application, sometimes the first 7 or so letters match for different applications. Below is an example of typing in 'network', 3 different apps, but I can't tell the difference in the dashboard.

Would be nice to be able to mouse over the icons and see the full names of the applications. Otherwise, I have to open them before I know.

Maybe an opportunity for another extension.

I don't have time to go through the 111 pages of this thread. Can someone PM or link me to a website where I can find GNOME 3 extensions? I see all these screenshots of cool themes and plugins, and I feel left out here on my fresh UGR install!

Also do "GNOME Look" themes work on Gnome 3?

    Here you go,
    http://www.fpmurphy.com/gnome-shell-extensions/

Don't know what you mean with Gnome-look themes.
If you meant Gnome-shell themes, they only work with gnome-shell obviously, you have to understand there's a difference between Gnome3 and Gnome-shell.

You can find a lot of information here,
    http://www.webupd8.org/search/label/...max-results=10

If you download the gNatty-pack,you'll have a bunch of extensions and themes, which are modified by cbowman57 to work nicely togeteher.

    +1
Have you tried the new x64v3 already?
It's so easy to install, with all the goodies in the same download, but to install separately.
Have installed the ISO on three different desktops and no problems at all.

    A very very good release!!

[Maybe a tip for the UGR-team]

for some reason twice now I am unable to install v3 on my dell vostro 3700--it hangs at the desktop (mouse only moves) nothing else loads--I waited for about 30mins, nothing happened.

Any idea what is going on? BTW, it uses a nvidia gforce.

Did you choose the "fallback gnome session' because gnome-shell will not work without a driver for the graphics.
My mistake, are you talking about the live cd or after the install?

[Are you really still using Dapper?]

It does not not load the desktop for me to select the fallback option in Live DVD--

I left Dapper for sentimental reasons--I used breezy first, but that option is not available.
