First of all, thanks to all the smart and wonderful people that help comprise this community, if it weren't for all of you, I'd never be typing this right now

I am using Proxoid off a Cricket Kyocera/Sanyo Zio M6000 Android ver 2.2 (froyo) to act as a modem and jack my wireless connection, since my rig doesn't have a wireless card, and I don't want to run an uber-long ethernet cable (or buy a wireless LAN card, funds are tight, the economy is to blame), so I've had to resort to this method.

I used to do something similar with PDAnet on Windows.

Anyway, HERE IS MY QUESTION,
can I use aforementioned Proxoid Linux modem to scan other wireless networks around me? My PS3 and Android can see quite a few, however, I want my PC to see them too.

Is purchasing a wireless LAN card the only possible way?

side-note, this is all happening over a Belkin Wireless router.
