So, yeah, I upgraded to 11.04 yesterday, wired works, but no wireless. Since I only have access to wireless here, I have to reboot to Windows to download stuff etc and write this... tried some troubleshooting and solutions, nothing worked so far. Here's what I have tried/some info:
lspci:
Code:
02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Atheros Communications AR8151 v1.0 Gigabit Ethernet [1969:1073] (rev c0)
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) [168c:002a] (rev 01)
iwconfig:
Code:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=14 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:on
sudo rfkill list:
Code:
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
2: acer-bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
(also tried unblock all)
ath9k is present in /etc/modules
not blacklisted
sudo iwlist scan:
wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down
Chipset: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) [168c:002a] (rev 01)
Network Manager lists both wired and wireless interfaces, but no APs are displayed, only says "unit not ready".
Tried ndiswrapper driver, but only worked for wired connection (The atheros website afaik states the same driver should work for both wired and wireless, but apparently it doesnt..)
Again, I don't have internet access on the ubuntu partition atm, so apt-get wont do...
Any tips?
