    Macbook 5,1 11.04 - EXTERNAL DISPLAY?

I'm LOVING the new Ubuntu, except for the fact that I NEED external displays. Under https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook5-1/Natty, it states that it "Needs a manual install." However nowhere on that page does it say exactly what/how to install. HELP?

The manual install simply means you need to install the binary nvidia driver after installing Ubuntu - make sure you've got the nvidia-current package installed (this installs the binary driver). Then start-up "NVIDIA X Server Settings" (nvidia-settings) and configure the external display from there.

    Hello,
there is the same issue with an external monitor connected via mini displayport -> DVI adapter here. No external displays are visible within the nvidia settings.

Can you use 12.04? External display just works there...

Edit: Sorry - thought this was for MBA 5,1.
