Ubuntu Green Coffee Beans
If I had to use any environment for the next year it would be Gnome 3.
Gnome 2 = out of date by todays standards.
Unity = far from ready, and very limited (usability & customisation)
KDE4 = Looks very nice, but feels like a bad case of hemorrhoids.
KDE3 = see Gnome 2
Frothy Coffee!
Performance on KDE for me is excellent. Even on my netbook (ASUS EEE PC 1000H with 1GB RAM and 1.6 GHz Intel Atom - not the best specs in the world but KDE is extremely fast on it.)
