I realize that username change requests are looked upon dimly, and I have also read:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1178721
However, I was wondering if I could make a username change request, nonetheless, on the following grounds:
1. My current username does contain part of my email address
2. I was just notified by an administrator on another, unrelated forum that they were the victim of an SQL injection attack, AND apparently they were storing usernames/password combinations in the clear, unencrypted, and didn't notify anyone of this until several hours after the hack was discovered. My account info (using the same username) was among the compromised data.
My passwords there and here were the same. Foolish, I admit. I've since taken steps to make sure that's no longer the case.
Even so, I'd appreciate being able to change the username on this account, to tubezninja . This way I can be absolutely certain that there's no easily discernible link between this account and the compromised one.
My apologies for inconveniencing the forum staff with this.
