Guess what mobile device Im posting from

The game is simple. Guess what mobile device I'm posting from. Every hour I will give clues. Clue 1; It only costs $15
Which is more important in obtaining the truth, "what" or "why"? Trick question. They are of equal importance.

The old OS was removed and a new hacked OS was added.

Re: Guess what mobile device Im posting from

Because of US carrier subsidies, clue 1 is probably less specific than you realize. Did you mean a one time payment of $15, or $15 upfront subsidized by your future payments to the carrier? For an example of what I mean, people think AT&T sells the iPhone 3GS for $49 because that's what it's marketed as. In reality, it's a $2,000+ product because of the 2 year contract. For all we know, you could be making that same mistake in saying your device is $15.

Also, there are far too many different mobile devices for us to start naming specific makes and models. This would work better if we could narrow it down with questions first, instead of with hourly clues.

The only connection to the device is wifi. No cell service.

I bought it from the store for $15 and the OS is Debian

If we can narrow down with questions:
Is it currently for sale as new (not secondhand) in the United States, or was it discontinued and/or imported from another country?

Edit: I found more hints in another thread. http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10966239

It retails for $45. There is a store online that sells it for $15 though.

It's original purpose was to fill one particular use. After hacking it, it will now, play video games, calculate, has python built in, play audio and video files.

I want to say the Peek, but the support section on the website indicates it has cellular connectivity.

Hmm... a 2 inch screen and originally intended for one purpose with its original OS. Maybe it's an MP3 player, but the issue there is WiFi and text entry. I'm just thinking aloud for others.

Edit: Or maybe a standalone GPS unit?
