It's a hard life... installing anything that is

    Tried installing this: http://stellarium.org/wiki/index.php...ation_on_Linux
using these rudimentary instructions but blew up after trying the cmake commands...
The CXX compiler identification is unknown
CMake Error: your CXX compiler: "CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER-NOTFOUND" was not found. Please set CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER to a valid compiler path or name.
    CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindQt4.cmake:1726 (MESSAGE):
    Qt qmake not found!
Call Stack (most recent call first):
    CMakeLists.txt:171 (FIND_PACKAGE)

    I give up!

Why don't you just install it from the repositories?

System>Administration>Synaptics Package Manager, search for it, install.
