Can't take screen shot when a menu is open

Whenever I try to take a screen shot with a menu open the menu disappears.
Is this correct, and if not how do I put it right?

Go to Accessories -> Take Screenshot. It has a timer function, so you can pose with your menu and say cheese. = )

I tried that, set it to 3 secs, but when I try to take the shot, the menus just disappear and no photo is taken.

What do you mean "when you try to take the shot?"

Did you,

1. Select the application,

2. Set a time limit,

3. Click "Take Screenshot,"

4. Activate your menu?

Give yourself more than 3 seconds - 10 would probably be best. Then activate whatever menu you're trying to get a shot of and don't touch anything until the ten seconds are up. = )

A question of sequence, take the shot, THEN activate the menus.
