Can any of you access Distrowatch?

I haven't been able to get to their website since yesterday. I was wondering if it was down, or something was wrong on my end.

I am able to access it here fine.

Here is a good website to tell whether it is down for everyone or just you:

Re: Can any of you access Distrowatch?

OK. I suspect I was IP blocked, because I made a comment that they need to have standards when they review distros. They had deleted that comment, and the same comment the week before. If you read their "reviews", and then see the comments, you'd know they have no real standards for what constitutes a review. I guess they didn't like that being pointed out.

My posts weren't very inflammatory, and considering some of the regulars, they were very tame. Very frustrating.

I never used Distrowatch to read reviews they made. I usually just go there to check the top 10 and see if anything new was released that i might want to check out. As far as anything is concerned the only review that matters is my own.

Yeah, I take any review or news article with a pinch of salt. It all depends on the authors personal opinion and sometimes even just what mood they were in when they wrote it. I find news websites very biased. I do think it's good to challenge such opinions publicly, as long as you do it in the right way (without being too abusive/argumentative). Theres a fine line between constructive criticism and trolling.
