I have an HP G62 with an rt3090 wifi chip.

I installed the drivers for it, which work great.

When I restart my computer, however, the hardware starts on, but turns disabled/off once Ubuntu boots up (as evidenced by a red light on the wifi indicator). If I hit fn+F12, it starts the device (white light).

I feel like there should be a script somewhere which controls this (like ACPI scripts that are there, but they seem to be Asus-dependent).

Is there a script/method to get my wireless device started automatically when I boot up?
