    Has anyone used SUSE Studio?

I came across the SUSE Studio web sit the other day. I'm not sure what an "Appliance" is, but it says that one can build a custom Linux distro with SUSE studio. Is that correct? Can a Linux noob really produce a functional distro with a few mouse clicks? And is there any cost? I didn't see any cost mentioned. Thanks. http://susestudio.com/

yeah I did and had major issues with it. I was at a linux confrence for the unveiling and the suse guys had about a 1/3 success rate with the appliance toolkits and installs.

Additionally, after tweeking with it for a week, me and a friend found some security issues, where obtaining root status is all too easy for unauthenticated users.

good luck if you try it but it was nuthin but trouble for me.

I tried it too back in 2009 but I didn't really like it per se. Of course, back then I barely knew how to use Linux so yeah

I'd rather do a cli of opensuse if I were to use it. Those are always fun.

Yes, I tried it and had nothing but problems.

I think a regular install of OpenSUSE is the way to go if one is so inclined.

The process was easy - however I barely played with it. It seemed like it would be of little use to a normal user.
