    Smile gEdit vs. Kate ..?

    Hello Guys!
I wanted to know your opinions about what is the best text editor, and what are the main differences between gedit and Kate (K Advanced Text Editor)
    So what do you think?

Last time I tried opening a text with mixed up character sets (Latin1 and UTF-8), gedit just refuses to open the file. Kate handles it with no problem. OTOH Kate takes longer to load and not having investigated how to customize start-up appearance, I find it ugly.

Kate is a programming editor. It is a really serious tool which can do a lot more than gedit but it takes longer to load on my PC

    Love
But but, in the wholetaken it is not only only as long as the fart is not too large (Don't go too fast)

Moved to recurring discussions - another what's the best (blank.) There is no best editor; the best is what works for you the best. All have their strengths and weaknesses.

Mainly because it's installed on every *nix system. once you get used using it, it's not as bad as it looks like when you first started using it. But then again that's the case for everything
