I have recently discovered a handy app for EEE PCs. It is called "EEE Applet" and it gives options to control Fan speed, enable and disable various hardware functions, and overclock the processor. I was wondering if there could be anything that would do that for other computers, mine has the same cpu and gpu as the EEE.

    Re: Overclock?

I'm not familiar with any run time overclocking utilities other than the one you mention. Depending on your H/W you may be able to overclock via BIOS if your motherboard supports that.

I have run across (and am using) undervolting utilities for a couple laptops to save power and allow the processor to run a little cooler. Perhaps there are related utilities for overvolting and tweaking various frequencies.

(I have an AMD Phenom II X4 820 system which I have overclocked via the BIOS from 2.8 to 3.5 GHZ.)
