GT240 can not be 800x600, 10.10 maverick

My AOC TFT22W90PS1 LED screen is 1920x1080 resolution. That' ok. but not all resolutions in nvidia-settings can work and show a black screen(not support). the most important is 800x600, many games need and use it as default. I do not want install those driver named xxx.run. so how can i get it works.

I have the Nvidia GT220. My monitor is the Samsung Syncmaster T200HD. The documentation says that the optimum resolution of the screen is 1680x1050 @ 60Hz. This is the setting that the Nvidia X-Server utility is using.

It is my understanding that the monitor may be damaged if it is not run at the optimum resolution. I suggest that you forget about the resolution of the games. Perhaps they were developed when 800x600 was the standard screen resolution.

It is important that the screen is run at its native resolution. Which it what the Nvidia driver is doing.
