    Canon MP600

    Hey guys,

I am trying to get my Canon MP600 printer working.

I Downloaded the drivers from the canon (europe) website, it was an .rpm file but it is easy to just find the canonmp600.ppd file

Then I had a message saying that pstocanonij was missing.

I found the file pstocanonij and manually copied it to: /use/libs/cups/filter

reinstalled the printer and it says it installed. Sent a test page to the printer but nothing came out.

I have searched through a load of information but most of the posts are really out of date 2007 - 2009.

This is as far of any of it seams to get from the more recent posts. Their is mention that the MP500 and IP4200 drivers work but only at 600dpi.

Has anyone got the MP600 printer working?

I've come across similar canon threads as yourself. This website promises a working driver - will cost though, not too much. Have heard good things though for those that have used them.

Hey, yes I had a look at that site. I have downloaded a "trial" driver which I will test tomorrow. I don't mind paying for the driver but I can only see there software package for sale at £29. Im not a fan of paying that for a printer driver!

    Thank you for you help.
