Firefox Minefield dropdown menus

When running Firefox 4.0b13pre (2011-02-25) Minefield occasionally and suddenly I can't access any item in a drop-down menu. The menu appears but just disappears when attempting to move the mouse cursor into the drop-down items list. When the problem starts it applies to all menus. The only solution is to close Firefox and reopen when, of course, all is fine .... until next time. The problem seems to begin entirely randomly and I can't reproduce it at will.

Any ideas please?

also happens on my install (10.10 with minefield 4.0bpre13). stops after re-starting the browser.

did not know restarting firefox would fix that
thought it was a compiz bug
i would just use the keyboard to control the menu when that happens (up/down/left/right/enter)

I can make the fault disappear for a while just by minimising and the re-maximising Firefox. Or spinning the cube but the problem soon reappears ...

I have this bug also, and it's been present for the last few betas, but not in the earlier versions. I think it started about beta 9 or 10, but I can't remember. Currently, I'm running 10.10 with the 4.0 public release and it still happens intermittently. When it occurs, I can't access any of the "File", "Edit", "View", etc menus, the awesome bar, or the right click menu. If I click on another open application window and then back to Firefox, everything works again.

I'm having the same problem in Firefox 4 with Maverick.

Same problems in 10.10
running Firefox (minefield)4.0 RC1

I can use the menus if the mouse does not move and I use cursor keys to highlight the required option and use "enter" to select.

Same problem here with Firefox 4 final and Ubuntu 10.10. It seems that the problem goes away when you switch focus to another application.

ditto. been happening since at least 4b10. to fix, i close then reopen browser.
