Adding applets to GDM panel, is it possible?

Ok, so I'm using Xubuntu 10.04.2, and I would like to add the network manager to the GDM Panel.

I know it must be possible somehow, since the Gnome version lacks the battery monitor, and the Xfce version has it present. I'm just not quite sure how to get it done.

Please note that I do not have Gnome installed, I have only XFCE, LXDE, and Openbox.

i doubt it, your talking notification app, so you would need a systemtray/notification area. also the way its made to run under a user.

since the Gnome version lacks the battery monitor
did you ever turn it on?

At least in Xubuntu Xfce 10.10, go up to your top panel (Panel 1 on my box), right click, "+ Add New Items", go to "Launcher" and add the name, a quick description and the command for you app. I have Google Chrome, Thunderbird, Cheese, Terminal and Gnotes on my top left panel space.

    Good luck !
