You should check out Dofus. It's free, though for some extra options you have to pay, and it runs well on pretty much any system. It's got a similar animation style as MapleStory too.

I just started playing Dofus myself. I was looking for something I could play natively on Linux, I've been using my MacBook to play WoW. It's been a lot of fun so far and definitely worth giving a try!
