As a team we can work on testing, upgrading, documentation, or answering support questions. This participation can be done solo or in a group. It can be held in a private location or in a public setting. As a member of the Ubuntu Beginners Team I have a broad familiarity with the processes involved in these areas. Why is a global jam being held so close to the release of 11.04? Why not have a release party/global jam combo?
The global jam is normally held close to the release as a way of putting the power of community behind squashing bugs prior to release.
