    Need instructions to change DNS settings

    When I type a search into Firefox's adress bar i am redirected to "BigpondSiteHelp" by Bigpond's (My ISP) DNS. There are instructions to turn this off for Windows and Mac. The windows version is here:

    http://bigpond.custhelp.com/app/answ...wtb2Ftaw%3D%3D

    But there are no instructions for Ubuntu and Bigpond refuse to help unless I pay a fee. Can anyone 'translate' these instructions for me?

    Much appreciated.

    Try this;

    The first answer seems simple enough.

    Id suggest using Google's DNS servers while you are at it.

    I've found that just about any DNS servers will do.

    many thanks to migs73.
    and everyone else offering solutions.
    migs73's link solved the problem brilliantly.
    even after emailing bigpond they refused to give instructions unless I signed up for their premium support service ($$$), which is ridiculous considering Ubuntu is recognised by the TIO as a standard operating system.
    Thankyou for providing me with better support than my ISP.
