Question Are there any good "Mystery" games for Linux ?

Hello everybody. This is my first time posting in this forum.

I would very much like to know if there are any good "mystery" games for linux. Like the old 7th Guest, or I heard Myst was another one. NOT a fantasy, magic witch and spells type of game. I want to find clues and wander through a scene like a detective, and try to learn what happened , or who got murdered, or where is the treasure, those games where you have to figure things out. Aren't there any games like that anymore ?

I'm not a game person, so if there are games like this for linux, I just haven't heard about them. I'm sure many of you guys here can tell me.

    Thank in advance.

You mean like the old point & click adventure games?

A couple of good ones that are in the repo's are Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen.

Hello Nytram, I wanted to thank you for the quick answer. I downloaded Steel Sky and quickly tried it. I like it even thought its a little simple, I do like it. Maybe I can find another like this one with a little bit better graphice or better storyline.

    Thanks again.

No problem. For something similar but with better gfx I'd suggest Monkey Island 3, and some of the other LucasArts games*. These aren't free though, but are quite old so you might be able to pick them up on ebay for a good price.

*You should check they'll work on Linux before buying, but I believe most of them do.

Thank you LARRXI and ART INT, Penumbra is what I was looking for. Mytery/adventure storylines. I appreciate your help.

I think ubuntu is great and enjoy very much the learning/helping/sharing experience of this forum.

If you're specifically looking for a detective game, there is the Police Quest series from Sierra. I know that 1-4 work fine in wine, not sure about the later games.
