    Microphone not working in Acer Aspire 5542-5547

    I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 x64 and trying to use the built in microphone.

    I checked this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...542+microphone
    I've made sure my microphone isn't muted.

    I went through the troubleshooting steps here:

    And nothing worked. I posted the results here:

    If no one knows how to fix it, I'll probably just buy an external microphone. Could you recommend a good one that works with Ubuntu?
