HOWTO: show year in ubuntu calendar??

    hi folks,

i searched this forum and via google, but did not find anything.

i want to have the year displayed in my ubuntu calendar next to the clock on the upper right corner of the gnome desktop (see screenshot).

the context menu of the gnome calendar does only allow to set the additional display of seconds, but not the YEAR!

    how can i do this?

here is a related pots that raised this issue for me:

Found this thread on how to configure date format for the clock applet: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=780676

A tip: If you name your thread with "HOWTO: ..." it suggests that it will include a howto, not that you are looking for one.

    Hi lykeion,
    thanks for your post!

I tried what was written in the post you mentioned (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=780676) but it did not word for me in ubuntu 10.10/11.04 x64.
I even installed ubuntu 7.04 and 8.04 to perform the procedure as mentioned in the post - no luck.

I guess I just have to give up a this point...
Thanks for your post & have a nice day...
