To respond to your original question, the answer about how easy it will be to gain access to your data depends on two basic things:
1) Speed/power of the system the use to try to "crack" the password
2) Strength of the password you use
Password-cracking programs abound on the Internet -- but the examples they always use are simple, three letter passwords -- like "abc".
Unlike what you see in the movies, password-cracking tools are NOT able to determine one character at a time. That's movie myth.
The number of attempts needed to crack a password increase enormously with the addition of each character to the password.
So, if you have a "strong" password, even if they have access to a powerhouse computer, it's likely to take days/weeks/months to actually "crack" the password.
