Can I access my ATI 5470 chip on ubuntu?

Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 (or mint 10, same thing really) on a HP Pavilion dv7 4020-sa. It has two ATI chips on it, the 4200 and a 5470. I can switch between them fine on Windows, but I have no idea if I can do it on Ubuntu. Any help here would be appreciated, thanks.

It depends on whether you're using open source or proprietary drivers. See this for details: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Features

So it can't be done with the proprietary drivers, only with the open source ones?

    Hi both,
did this work for you? I.e. can you use both graphics cards in Ubuntu?

I'm considering buying a HP Pavilion dv7 4020-sa to use mainly primarily with Ubuntu. Were there any other issues?

    Thanks
