Hey,
I got my ?system? and my harddrive, and most likely my Ubuntu-CD killed while copying mp3-files from an exterrnal device to my harddrive.
But the most facinating thing is, that my Ubuntu-CD worked perfectly yesterday, and it was OUTSIDE my computer while the error occured.
But I will try to sort it more out:
Error I: Cannot boot my Ubuntu 10.10 anymore (less than 24hours of age)
When : I was copying my mp3 music data to my harddrive
what : I started to lag, then hung itself up, then there were a bunch of fuzzy white lines on the screen and .... gone
Error II: Cannot boot my Ubuntu 10.10 cd anymore
When : just after Error I
What : well there is a massage telling me: "mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: No such device"
So what the hack went wrong and killed everything.
Before anybody gets this idea: I am NOT able to boot from usb, my mainboard just doesn't do it.
€: Somehow solved it: I looked inside my PC and reattached all cables from the harddrive to anything, well i must hava somehow loosened itself and then the connection broke.
So if anybody got a similiar problem: Check your cables!
