    Calibri font alternative

Can anyone suggest a "difficult to tell apart" alternative for MS Calibri.

This has now become the standard for our University, and I have had a couple of documents "rejected" using arial which was the old standard.

I would suggest making a petition against that. That is just ridiculous.

    Try this: http://www.oooninja.com/2008/01/cali...-download.html

If they disregard you I would just type your paper in whatever format you want. Then take the paper to the computer labs and converting the font to fit the standards.

Actually, I think its reasonable enough that they have a house style that staff need to follow, but I don't really want to go through the hassle of converting documents.

But thanks for the link, some useful things there.

I understand where they are coming from on it but I don't get why they would choose such an obscure font. Arial is a easy to read font as well.

Hopefully everything gets sorted out for you.

Now that is a different question, and gets added to the long list of decisions that I struggle to understand.

Why not just install Calibri.ttf on your machine?

I know, MS has stated that you "can't" but...

Basically, because MS say you can't and I would rather find a non MS alternative.

It's legal if you buy it here: http://www.ascenderfonts.com/font/calibri-regular.aspx from the way I understand it.

Or I saw the suggestion of URW Pallido as replacement.

Thanks, I didn't realise you could buy it as easily as this, worth thinking about.
