Re: Connecting Galaxy S to Ubuntu

    I can't mount my Samsung Galaxy S3.
When I connect my phone, I have two options in USB settings:

    1) Multimedia device (MTP)
    2) Camera (PTP)

If I select 2nd option (PTP), Ubuntu silently ignores my phone and no new disks appear in Nautilus.
If I select 1st option (MTP), two new disks appear in Nautilus both with the same: SAMSUNG_Android. If I click on any of them I get error message:

    Unable to mount SAMSUNG_Android
Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device
    Any ideas?

If a post is older than a year or so and hasn't had a new reply in that time, instead of replying to it, create a new thread. In the software world, a lot can change in a very short time, and doing things this way makes it more likely that you will find the best information. You may link to the original discussion in the new thread if you think it may be helpful.
