    DVD Not recognized no DVD driver

    When I place a dvd in the drive nothing happens.

    I will try and play the dvd threw Movie Player but can't find the dvd.

    When I try under places no optical drive is seen.

    What to do?

    Thank you for the fast response.

    After installing libdvdread4 and installing the regionset package I received the following error


    regionset version 0.1 -- reads/sets region code on DVD drives
    ERROR: Could not open disc "(null)"!
    Please ensure there is a readable CD or DVD in the drive.

    the DVD is fine almost brand new, and I still can not find the DVD drive

    Would I need to update my driver since I cant find it? If so how to do that?
